Old fashioned Pull Taffy
Kallee for a school project had to make a poster and cook 3 foods from the time of Jamestown Settlement. She choose rootbeer, garlic bread, and pull taffy to bake and share with her class. Well, you all know she does gymnastics and doesn't get home until 8pm. So After, I put everyone to sleep but Kody it was about 9:00 before we even started making the taffy. It was so funny. I think just everything we did we laughed. It was just because we were both so tired. But with the help of my mom (after I called her) we figured out how to pull the taffy. Kallee had a blast. She just kept pulling and twisting the taffy. At about 10:00 we had finished. We were most excited that it worked. Because it's not easy stuff to get just right. We even sampled it and it was yummy!Super Bowl Party
We weren't to excited at either of the teams that made it but we still decided to make a fun party out of it anyway. We did all decide we wanted the cardinal to win but that didn't happen. But we had a fun family party anywhere.
We had a fun Super Bowl party after church. We had tons of yummy food and the best part was everyone made something to help me out. Kallee made pinwheels, Kyle Brownies, Dad cut up veggies and made dip, mom did mini hot dogs and velvetta cheese dip, and the little boys did crackers. We spread the plastic out and ate while we watched.
Horse Shelter in Roanoke
One afternoon, I picked the kids up from school early and drove to a horse sheltor. I had never heard of one before until I saw an advertisement. Our children love horses so we thought we would see if we could be of some service to them. We had such an eye opener and a wonderful experience.
A lady and man do this for a living. They receive money all from donations and this is what they do for a living. Not only did they have horses, but many other animals as well. But they had 42 horses they are taking care of at the time. All of them are super sick and lacking nutrition. They work off of all donations and voluteers to help them out.
They try to find homes for the horses but most the time they are unable to. Along with all 42 horses come with quite the story to tell. Most of them came to the horse shelter because of tough times. The owners could no longer afford to take care of them let alone feed them. So they gave them to the shelter in hopes they could help.
These two horses were Kallee's most favorite. She could hardly wait to take care of them and see if she could help them out.
Kallee's Day Spa
Wow, Kallee takes care of all 3 brothers. Not only does she do their nails, hair, make-up, dress-up, and now a pedicure. Boy they are lucky. I bet not all brothers are this well taken care of by their big sister.
Kyle could hardly handle Kallee buffing his feet. He was laughing so hard because it tickled his toes!
Even baby Kamden had to have a turn to soak his feet. He didn't want to get out and give Kody a turn.
Thanks Kallee for loving your brothers and taking such good care of them. They will for sure love you for this. Just wait until they become teenagers and we show them all the picutures. There will be a lot of laughs. We love you Kallee. Life would be to boring without you! Thanks for keeping us going.
