Julian Campground NC

OK so here is our big whopper of a fish story!!! This fish is 21 inches long. Kallee and Kyle caught it together!!!

Our great hike to the BEST fishing hole!!!!

Kallee's and Mike's 21 inch rainbow trout!

OK so here is the story....right when Mike threw his line in he instantly caught a fish. We thought it was huge. But Kyle threw his line in and caught a monster. It was so big his pole was bending in half and to make it worse we didn't except something so big so our hooks and line weren't strong enough. Kyle's pool was new from Grandpa and Grandma Cottrell and we didn't play with the tension. Well this fish got the best of Kyle's tension. We couldn't reel him in. He was reeling himself out. No matter how hard we tried we couldn't get him in. So eventually he wiggled himself off the hook. Mike and I were sick to our stomach because he was huge.

So we fixed our poles and cast in again. This time Mike cast off for Kallee and sure enough she caught a 21 monster of a trout. Well, this time Mike wasn't going to let him get a way. He wanted a picture for proof how big these guys were. So as Kallee was reeling it in he got close to the edge of the rock and he went into the rapids. All the kids started screaming because they thought there dad was a goner but he knows how to swim. After doggy paddling the waves for a bit and the current he was able to get out and swim to the side. Meanwhile, after I knew he was OK I was battling a huge flippin fish on our rock while the kids were screaming. I was trying to calm them at the same time I wasn't going to let this guy go after all this. So Mike quickly went over to help me tackle this big flippin guy. We finally, hooked him with our other fish! We were able to take some pictures to show our tale!

The cutiest thing Kyle said to Mike was, "Dad we would rather have a DAD than a fish!"

Mike after trying to rescue a 21 inch fish! Could thing it was warm weather because we still had a hike back to our campground!
